Tiger Love by MizarII Tiger Love by MizarII
On our trip with my group documentary project for our university about the Tiger Temple I took this sweet photo of this monk with the tiger.

All the other tigers were chained of course and lying around.
It was their nap time so they are not dangerous to interact
with (minimal interaction like taking pictures for the visitors) as they have already ate and played with and are just being lazy like your house cat :D This tiger though was not chained and was merrily lying around with this monk. The tiger knows this monk since it was a cub so it is extremely friendly to him and allows him to do anything he wants.

You have taken probablly one of the best pictures of this place i have seen. And im wishing i was that monk. You really captured a great moment between friends. You have a great color balance and weight to the picture as well. I thought about how you could have gotten the whole tiger in the picture, but in this, its not about the animal, its more about the connection of spirit between them, and you have it. I like how the tiger is right in their with him taking it in the love. LOVE IT! Well done. i would blow this up myself and have it in my living room if i were you. It nice to see these deep connections. It reminds me that their are people out there that can relax and be in the moment when something unpredictable and powerful is in their space. Good stuff.

amazing photo, I really like the tone of it. everything seem to blend nicely from the color of the ground, the monk's robe, to the tiger's fur. simply a great capture, of a great moment.

if I may, my similar experience: [link]

If you do enough research you will realize that there is no love at this place. I bought into it too, but it's a hell for tigers. It breaks my heart.

Yes I have research about this place. In fact I was very skeptical about it in the first place and have organized a trip with my fellow students to interview and investigate the place for ourselves instead of believing either side of people's stories. I can assure you that this place really cares about the tigers :) The tigers have not come from the wild. When new cubs come in they are brought in from a much worse place and some would have been killed otherwise...I think that they are just following Buddhist idealism of allowing animals to stay at the temple which is very normal around here, except that they are keeping tigers...if you have anymore questions about this you are free to note me and I will answer all your questions :)

I think you are well meaning, but you are lying to yourself. How much of the tiger temple did you get to see?

Everyone here in the conservation and animal community here in Thailand knows that not only is the tiger temple engaging in abuse, but it is also engaging in the illegal wildlife trade. Many travel agencies are removing this place from their itineraries after learning what goes on there.

I believed that they were doing good too, but I was wrong. I personally know someone that worked there and documented these accusations every step of the way. Please... if you love tigers, don't promote this place.
